Women's Giving Circle
The Women’s Giving Circle of Washington County, a companion group of Marietta Community Foundation, is a volunteer-led and member-managed giving circle whose main purpose is to educate, inspire, and increase local women’s participation in philanthropy.

Joining the Women’s Giving Circle is the easiest way to connect with like-minded women, discover local charitable organizations that support empowering women and youth, and make a meaningful impact through informed, focused grantmaking.
Participation is simple and impactful — no volunteering, no event planning, no soliciting silent auction donations is required. New members are always welcome to join the ranks of this exciting initiative!
Since its creation in 2016, the group has donated more than $50,000 to local nonprofits benefitting women and children.
How it Works
The Women's Giving Circle meets twice per year, in the spring and fall. The group gathers at the Barker Estate in Devola, and enjoys light hors d’oeuvres, beverages, and fellowship before the official business portion of the evening.

“The people who are presenting here are very authentic. Just hearing about these projects is so valuable, and plants a seed in our minds as far as organizations that are worthy of supporting.”
Prior to the meeting, members recommend projects/organizations with relevant missions to support. Three charitable organizations are selected at random to present from those recommendations.
During the meeting, each presenting organization has five minutes to tell members about their intended impact. Group members then have the opportunity to ask questions. After hearing from all three organizations, members complete a simple ballot to determine who will receive the top, middle, and final awards. All presenting organizations receive funding. Award amounts vary based on the quantity of women participating.
Annual dues are $500. This is divvied up between each meeting and the group’s endowment fund.
