Women’s Giving Circle Awards $12,000 to Support Literacy, Career Exploration, and Youth Leadership
Washington County - What began in 2016 as a small group of women committed to making a difference has grown into a lasting force for good across Washington County. Gathering at Marietta Country Club for their first meeting of 2026, members of the Women’s Giving Circle awarded $12,000 to three organizations dedicated to helping local youth learn, lead, and succeed.

As the Women’s Giving Circle approaches its tenth year, the group continues to demonstrate the power of collective philanthropy. Since its inception, members have awarded more than $116,000 in grants to 31 organizations throughout Washington County.
2026 Grant Recipients
Blessing Birds - $6,000
Funding will support students at Marietta City School District by ensuring every child has the opportunity to purchase a book during their school book fair next year. Blessing Birds focuses on meeting needs throughout the community, with a strong emphasis on creating inclusive experiences that help children feel supported and valued.Washington County Career Center Summer Career Center - $4,000
For many years, the Washington County Career Center has offered a free week-long summer career camp for students entering grades 7 through 10. Participants explore a variety of career pathways through hands-on learning experiences and career awareness activities. This grant will help sustain the program and ensure local youth continue to have access to these valuable opportunities.InfluencHer Leadership Summit - $2,000
The InfluencHer Leadership Summit is a free, one-day leadership program designed for middle school girls in Washington County, Ohio, and Williamstown, West Virginia. Through mentorship, interactive activities, and personal development experiences, participants build confidence, discover their strengths, and develop leadership skills that will serve them well into the future.
