Where Are They Now: Aubrey McIntire
From a young age, Aubrey McIntire always looked to the skies. Raised in Beverly, Ohio, and a 2024 graduate of Fort Frye High School, Aubrey’s dream of becoming an airline pilot was never just a fleeting interest—it was a calling.
Today, she’s well on her way to making that dream a reality. Aubrey is currently pursuing a degree in Aeronautics at Liberty University, where she expects to graduate in May 2026. Her journey has been fueled not only by passion and determination but also by the generosity of others. As a recipient of both the Carol Christy Scholarship and the Greg Schilling Scholarship, Aubrey is quick to express her gratitude:
“These scholarships have given me the opportunity to chase my dreams in a way that otherwise wouldn’t have been possible. I’m so thankful to everyone who made this journey possible.”
Now fully immersed in college life, Aubrey says she’s loving every moment of it—from rigorous flight training to late-night study sessions with classmates who share her passion.
“Liberty’s aviation program is intense but so rewarding,” she said. “I’ve learned so much not only about flying, but about leadership, communication, and who I want to be as a person and a pilot.”
She serves as secretary of Liberty’s International Aviators Club, where she’s found a strong community of future pilots who challenge and inspire each other. She’s also a mentee in the school’s aviation mentoring program and hopes to become a mentor herself in the future.
After graduation, Aubrey plans to enter a cadet program with a regional airline, which could ultimately lead to flying for one of the major carriers. Liberty University has a pipeline partnership with Republic Airways, a regional airline that feeds into larger networks like United and Delta.
“My goal has always been to fly for a major airline like United Airlines and to see the world. I feel incredibly blessed to be moving in that direction,” said Aubrey. “I truly would not be where I am today without all of the incredible support I have received from my family, friends, and generous donors of the scholarships at Marietta Community Foundation.”
In this new era of impact, Aubrey represents what’s possible when young people are given not just the tools—but the belief—they need to take off. Her story is a testament to how scholarships are so much more than financial support; they’re a sign that someone in the community is willing to invest in your future, believe in your potential, and help you chase your dreams.
