MCF Welcomes New Administrative Assistant

Washington County, OH — If you’ve called or visited Marietta Community Foundation recently, there’s a good chance you’ve already met our new Administrative Assistant, Charlotte Sweet. Since joining the team in March, Charlotte has quickly become an essential part of our daily operations—not just because of her skills, but for the positivity and warmth she brings to the office each day.

Originally from Holt, Michigan, Charlotte moved to the Mid-Ohio Valley 11 years ago and now calls Vienna, West Virginia home. Prior to joining the Foundation, she spent seven years as the Optical Manager at Vienna Eye Clinic. While she found fulfillment in helping others through healthcare, Charlotte began to feel a pull towards a new path.

“I wanted to find a new passion,” Charlotte shared. “When I came across the Foundation’s mission and this role, it just felt like the perfect fit.”

In her role as Administrative Assistant, Charlotte is often the first voice you hear on the phone and the first face you see when you walk through our doors. From fielding questions and processing gifts to distributing grants and supporting financial operations, Charlotte plays a vital role in keeping things running smoothly.

“My favorite part of the job so far has been the people,” she said. “I’ve been so inspired by the kindness and generosity of our donors, community partners, and the amazing team I get to work with every day.”

Goal-oriented and eager to grow, Charlotte is excited to deepen her understanding of the Foundation and its impact. “My goal is to grow within this role and support the Foundation however I’m needed,” she added. “I’m excited to continue learning in this position.”

Heather Allender, President & CEO of the Foundation, expressed her enthusiasm for Charlotte’s addition to the team:

“Charlotte has been a wonderful addition to our team. She brings a kind, approachable energy to the office and has a strong desire to serve our community. From day one, she’s shown a genuine interest in learning and growing with the Foundation. We’re lucky to have her.”

Outside of work, Charlotte enjoys life with her husband, Ian, and their two children, Marshall and Sadie. The next time you call or stop by, be sure to say hello and welcome her to the Foundation family!
