MCF Announces First Grant Cycle of 2026, Investing Over $172,000 into Washington County

Washington County - As spring brings new growth and renewed energy to our communities, Marietta Community Foundation is proud to announce the distribution of more than $172,000 through its first grant cycle of 2026. This funding reflects the Foundation’s continued commitment to nurturing opportunity, strengthening organizations, and supporting initiatives that enhance quality of life across the region.

Community Impact Grants

The Foundation awarded a total of $144,611 through its Community Impact Grant program. These grants support larger-scale projects and strategic initiatives that address critical needs and create lasting change throughout Washington County

  • Support for new noninvasive hemoglobin and comprehensive health-screening equipment to enhance the blood donation process.

  • Completion of a child care security project to improve safety measures for children and staff.

  • Operational support during its merger with the Ely Chapman Education Foundation to strengthen and expand youth services.

  • Support for housing counseling services to help individuals and families secure and maintain stable housing.

  • Purchase of ADA-compliant pool steps to improve accessibility at the Devola Pool.

  • Staff support and professional development to sustain domestic violence shelter services.

  • Renovation of space for a school-based health clinic in partnership with Coplin Health.

  • Enhancements for the festival’s 50th anniversary celebration.

  • Funding to grant wishes for four local children facing critical illnesses.

  • Expansion of adult daycare, transportation, and financial assistance programs.

  • Improvements to protect and maintain community pool infrastructure.

  • Acquisition of a facility to expand community programming and services.

  • Purchase of a high-fidelity pediatric simulator for nursing education.

  • Establishment of a specialized care unit for residents with cognitive impairments.

Simple Solution Grants

In addition, the Foundation awarded $28,160 through its Simple Solution Grant program. These grants are designed to support smaller, immediate needs—often providing quick, flexible funding that helps organizations continue their important work without delay.

Organizations receiving Simple Solution funding include: Barlow Vincent Church of Christ, Belpre Area Ministries, Belpre Performing Arts Boosters, Castle Museum, Fort Frye Band Boosters, Gilman United Methodist Church, GoPacks, Harvest of Hope, Hippodrome Colony Historical Theatre Association (Peoples Bank Theatre), Hugh O’Brian Youth (HOBY), Ohio South L-A Fire & Rescue Association, LifeCare Alliance, Little Muskingum Volunteer Fire Department Inc., Marietta Band Boosters, Memorial Health Foundation, Muskingum Valley Safety Town (c/o Beverly Lions Club), National Inventors Hall of Fame, Nonprofits LEAD (Marietta College), Oak Grove Christian School, River City Kitty Café, United Church Homes, and Veritas Classical Academy.
