Washington County, OH — This Giving Tuesday, Marietta Community Foundation is ensuring that an individual’s generosity will be able to reach its full potential.

Processing fees for all donations made through the Foundation website on Tuesday, November 30th will be covered, allowing gifts to maintain their full integrity. While the Foundation does not assess fees for their services, the PayPal online donation portal charges a processing fee of 2.2%. While minimal, this does inhibit the size of gifts made.

“If someone is planning on making an online gift through the Foundation, Giving Tuesday is the best day of the year to do so,” said Heather Allender, President and CEO. “We want to encourage our community to take advantage and benefit the local organizations, programs, and causes that they care about the most.”

Gifts can be made online by visiting www.mcfohio.org/donate.

Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement that started in 2012. While events such as Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday focus on shopping for consumer goods, Giving Tuesday focuses on building a “more just and generous world.”

Marietta Community Foundation supports philanthropy and efforts to improve natural, human, and civic resources in Washington County through grants and initiatives.
