Turning Students’ Dreams Into Reality

Marietta Community Foundation offers more than 60 scholarship opportunities for residents of Washington County and beyond. Each of these scholarships has been established by donors passionate about helping students realize their educational dreams.

Each scholarship application is reviewed by a dedicated committee and approved by our Board of Directors. There is no room for bias in our process — all applications have personal information redacted, which allows for the most fair selections to be made.

If you have any questions, contact scholarships@mcfohio.org or 740-373-3286.

Ready to Apply? Let's Get Started!

Step 1: Prepare Yourself

  1. Complete the FAFSA as soon as it becomes available.

  2. Review our timeline and available scholarships, paying special attention to deadlines and alternative submission procedures.

  3. Get ready to type! All applications and essays should be typed using the provided forms, then printed one-sided and signed in ink.

  4. Plan to attend our Scholarship Awards Ceremony on April 28th at Washington State Community College.

Step 2: Master the Application

  1. Complete the Master Application.

  2. Write the essay(s) for each scholarship you’d like to apply for.

Please ensure that all parts of the Master Application and scholarship essays are typed and signed in ink.

Step 3: Submit

A complete submission includes the following materials:

  1. One Master Application typed using the available fillable PDF format then printed one-sided, hand-signed in ink, and left unstapled.

  2. Two Applicant Appraisals (pages 4-5 of the Master Application), signed by each appraiser.

  3. All essays and other documents required by the scholarships that you are applying for.

  4. One Official Transcript to verify your GPA, class rank, and test scores.

  5. One Copy of your FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS)

    • Due to recent delays with the FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS), applicants are asked to submit a placeholder Student Aid Index (SAI) using the Federal Student Aid Estimator tool.

    • Once the FSS becomes available, students must submit their official report to scholarships@mcfohio.org or 100 Putnam Street Marietta, OH 45750.

    • If you will not be completing the FAFSA, submit a statement explaining why.

Important Notes
  • Applications must be mailed or delivered to our office by March 18. There is no option to submit online, but applications can be submitted via email.

  • Please do not staple any documents and print everything one-sided. Handling applications is extremely time-intensive, and this helps speed up our process.

  • Any other materials submitted, such as letters of recommendation, will be disregarded and not shared with the review committee.

  • Submitting a Master Application on its own does not make you eligible for any scholarships. All scholarships have unique application requirements that must be submitted alongside the Master Application.

  • If you have any questions, contact scholarships@mcfohio.org or 740-373-3286.
